Why Real Estate in Mt. Pleasant?

Mount Pleasant is a thriving city of approximately 78,000 people. It’s a gateway to the popular beaches on Isle of Palm and Sullivan’s Island. Mount Pleasant is also home to many unique historical and cultural sites.

Patriot’s Point, a naval and maritime museum is one of the more prominent attractions. Sitting at the foot of the 8 lane Arthur Ravenel Bridge is the USS Yorktown, a World War II aircraft carrier which is now a museum ship.  The USS Laffey, a destroyer, and the USS Clamagore, a submarine, along with 25 naval aircraft are also part of the Patriot’s Point museum.

Boone Hall Plantation, one of America’s oldest, living plantations, with its majestic avenues of moss draped live oaks is possibly the most photographed plantation in America.

Other Mount Pleasant, SC attractions include:

  • The Charles Pinckney National Historic Site: Charles Pinckney was a principal author and a signer of the United States Constitution. This remnant of his coastal plantation is preserved to tell the story of a “forgotten founder.”
  • Geocaching:  The Town of Mount Pleasant currently maintains four geocaches: Patriot’s Point Nature Trail multi-stage geocache, Waterfront Memorial Park multi-stage geocache, Kearn’s Park geocache, and Hamlin Park Trail geocache.
  • Golf :  Four championship courses, each with breathtaking views of the marsh and scenic waterways: Charleston National Country Club, Dunes West Golf Club, Patriots Point Links on Charleston Harbor, and RiverTowne Country Club
  • Memorial Waterfront Park :  At the base of the Ravenel Bridge, the park is home to a nautical-themed playground, lawn for picnics, beautiful views of Charleston Harbor and a 1,250 long pier.
  • Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Pavilion:   Men and women have, for three centuries, carried on the Lowcountry basket weaving tradition. The pavilion is a tribute to these generations, allowing sweetgrass basket makers to market their wares.

The Town of Mount Pleasant sponsors many activities such as live music, festivals, parades and farmer’s markets, but it also provides extensive shopping opportunities, many parks and waterways, municipal services, and business opportunities.
